Recently we came across an article online on Inman News, about “Eleven Amazing Real Estate Facts” that really caught our attention, so we took a look at each one, and decided to share them with you one at a time! Some are simply tidbits about foreign real estate customs, some are facts about the rich and famous, and some are just interesting twists on stuff we probably already knew, but didn’t think about. Real Estate Fact: India’s wealthiest citizen built a billion dollar home. Billion, with a “B”!
Expanded Fact: Mukesh Ambani, India’s wealthiest man and head of Reliance Industries, built a billion dollar home for himself and his family. Actually, according to Forbes.com, the cost was closer to two billion. This 27 story home was built on top of 6 floors of parking garage and includes a lobby, ballroom, pool, yoga studio and several gardens. Also included is a lounge for visitors’ bodyguards to relax during their employers’ visits to the highrise home. On the practical side, Indian contractors and products received preference during the build, and both regular and hanging hydroponic gardens are used as energy-saving devices to absorb sunlight and make the building more eco-friendly.
Fun Fact: Included in this amazing home is a snow room. Yes, you read it right, a super-cooled room with real snow flurries!
