A few minutes north of Columbus’ downtown, Westerville offers up a great Farmers’ Market every Wednesday, from May through October. If you can get to Uptown Westerville (N. State and E. Home Streets) on a Wednesday at 3 p.m., well, you are in for some treats.

What could be better than “Home-grown. Home-made. All Ohio.”?

This Market is a ‘soup-to-nuts’ operation in every way. They have your starter salad ingredients, by way of locally grown, chemical free fruits and veggies, as well their conventional collection. They have naturally-raised meats such as beef, pork or lamb. They have fresh eggs, and the sausage or bologna to go with them. If this has got you thinking, ‘hey, what’s for dessert’, they have all sorts of sweet treats, like raw honey, maple syrup, jams and pies. Need some snacks to fit in before or after (or during) a meal? Those are covered too, as the Market offers chips, spreads, breads, cheeses, crackers and a whole lot more.

If you’d like to check out the spread virtually before heading to this every Wednesday event, visit their website.

Summer’s a great time to enjoy open air markets, know that some parking is available, get in on lots of fresh goodies, and maybe spend some time going through some of the many shops in the area. Perhaps you’re in the mood to accessorize your home a bit, or do a little remodeling? There are shops to suit your needs and tastes in Westerville. In addition to being a people and pedestrian-friendly area, Westerville is also “a dog-walk and bike-friendly destination.”
