Beach picnic at Alum Creek is a great way to spend a day!

Take a picnic basket, grab the kids and their towels and plan to spend a day at the beach watching the boats go by.

Alum Creek is a full-service state park offering camping, cabin rentals, boating, fishing, trails, dog park, swimming, disc golf, and hunting.

If your family would love a nearby summer getaway, consider Alum Creek State Park! With 286 campsites with beach and boat ramp access, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, nature programs, and hot showers, this camping trip is fabulous AND close to home in case of nasty weather!

Looking for a more civilized getaway? Four cabins are available for rent, and come fully furnished with fully equipped kitchen and bath, as well as air conditioning and TV/DVD and stereos. Four more primitive cabins are also available for the more rustic-loving families.

The dog park at Alum Creek includes areas for small and large dogs, and fenced water access for water-loving breeds.

The trails at Alum Creek include hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and bridle trails (bring your own horse).

The Alum Creek reservoir is 3,387 acres of water, with four launch ramps, swimming at the largest inland beach in Ohio, and fishing for bass, bluegill, crappie, walleye, and saugeye (valid Ohio fishing/boat registrations are required).

Disc golf is a great activity for families to share, and Alum Creek State Park not only has an 18 hole course for free, but they offer equipment rental! This is a great sport, and an easy way to see if your kids or friends will enjoy it without investing in equipment to play.

Alum Creek is a four-season park, with year-round nature programs, hunting, sledding, ice skating, ice fishing and boating, and skiing when weather permits.
