SO exciting to little readers and their families is the STORY TRAIL at Friendship Park, an outdoor reading experience for children designed to go with the book “In the Tall, Tall Grass” by Denise Fleming. The pages of the books are enlarged and placed along the trail! Your local library or bookstore would be a great place to pick up a copy of the book, so kids can read the book before or after they go. Either way, this is one for their memory books!

This small Gahanna beauty is a city park that also offers basketball and tennis courts, playground, creek access for wading and fishing, a butterfly garden, two rain gardens, trails, picnic areas and shelters for reservation.

The butterfly garden is full of blooms and scents to attract the insect beauties, and the two rain gardens are full of beautifully landscaped plants and features.

The playground is large, appropriate for all ages, and a great place to run off energy for those school-free summer days.

Friendship Park is attractive as a three season park, but there are sometimes winter programs offered during the colder months through Gahanna Parks and Rec.
