This is the place to bring your fireman fan for the afternoon. Located in the heart of downtown Columbus, this restored 1908 fire station is a whole museum about firefighting! A perfect rainy-day destination, this indoor museum has much to offer the inner firefighter in kids of every age, from 1 to 105!
With a children’s play area, “Fire Safety Way” and a burned room display, there is a ton of fun for kids, and many a great conversation starter about fire safety for parents with children, and a great reminder for adults to check on their home fire safety measures; smoke and CO detectors, fire extinguishers, and fire safety plans.
Worth the trip downtown alone on a rainy day, it can also be a great combination sunny day trip with one of the outdoor parks nearby that overlook the Scioto River. Battelle Riverfront Park and Bicentennial Park are both within walking distance!
Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, and Admission is Adults $8, Seniors $7, and Kids $6.
Free parking is available in the driveway, and street parking is metered. this museum is ADA accessible.
