Do you like to eat? How about walking to where you can eat? OK, how about doing a little walking and along the way, stopping at five great eating establishments to sample signature dishes? The Short North Walking Food Tour runs twice a week through October, then once a week thereafter, so there’s still time to book your advance ticket.
You may already know the Short North for the Arts, and that there’s a Monthly Gallery Hop. But if you didn’t know there’s tons of shopping there too, and yes, good food, here’s the best way to find out. The tour starts to give you “some of the best that the Short North and Columbus have to offer” at Columbus’ historic North Market. Did you know it’s the city’s only public farmers’ market? True! And when you get there, you’ll get to meet local vendors and get a bit of history in the doing. When you leave the North Market, you’ll be on your way to five different places to eat. There’ll be some neighborhood favorites, new additions, and some fine dining (e.g., the James Beard nominated Kent Rigsby restaurant). Not forgetting dessert, you’ll stop for some Jeni’s ice cream. Jeni’s, by the way, was featured on the Food Network’s America’s Best Sweets.
On this Friday & Saturday event, there’s lots to see, and lots of yummy things to sample, and all for $58. If you want more information about this tour, please see Columbus Food Adventures’ website.
