A Museum of 19th Century life, Kelton House Museum and Garden was also a stop on the Underground Railroad, and is a perfect rainy-day destination, although it’s lovely in any weather. A private family home for 150 years, this lovely Victorian has been restored and maintained by the Columbus Junior League, both inside and out. Built by a wealthy Victorian family, the downtown home has seen Columbus grow and change over the last century and a half!
Audio tours are always available, but the costumed docent tours offered on Sundays from 1 to 4pm, are highly recommended. Kelton House also offers special events like Victorian Teas and Civil War programs, too. The garden has been faithfully restored, just like the home.
Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for Seniors, $3 for children Kindergarten to 12th grade. Older students $4.
Keep an eye on the website for special events and educational opportunities.
