Clintonville Student Citizen Breakfast Another Success!

Dozens of Clintonville students received well deserved recognition last Friday as the Middle Schools and local businesses highlighted their positive efforts to make a difference in the lives of people around them.

Our own Sue Lusk-Gleich was one of the founders of this concept 25 years ago and she continues to support and work with the Clintonville Chamber of Commerce when they began to oversee the project.

“The thing I like about the breakfast is that it honors local middle schools and no other program out there does this. It’s cool that we recognize them because the work they do is out of the goodness of their heart. Their academics have to be good and they are recognized for donating their time for activities outside school,” says Sue. “ There is a real variety of volunteer activities such as partnering with special Olympians, fundraising for H20 for Life, or helping their Sunday schools and elderly neighbors.”

14th Annual Student Citizen Breakfast

The Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to recognize the neighborhood’s best and brightest middle school students at the 14th Annual Student Citizen Breakfast. Students from each grade are selected by their schools for leadership, academic achievement, and for involvement in the community. This year the event honors 45 middle school students from 8 schools: Calumet Christian School, Clintonville Academy, Dominion Middle School, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Peace, Indianola Informal Alternative, Ohio Deaf School, and the Ohio State School for the Blind.

The breakfast event will take place on Friday, May 13, at the Fawcett Conference Center. The Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes local television news personality Gail Hogan as the guest speaker this year. An eagerly anticipated annual event, it originated with the North Area Realtors Association, and our own Sue Lusk-Gleich serves as co-chair this year.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for such a wonderful experience in buying a home. I have lived in 7 markets and never had a Realtor provide the service, knowledge, sensitivity and compassion you have to my mother and me.

When we met 3 years ago, you realized that I wasn’t able to purchase a home at that time due to trying to sell my home in another state. That didn’t stop you. You called on a regular basis, seeking out what my needs were and always touching base to see if you could be of help. And 3 years later, you helped us find and purchase a home with great and memorable experience along the way. Who could ask for more than that!

I realized at that time, you were the Realtor for me. Your persistence, service and caring over 3 year goes unprecedented. You were so caring to my 85 year old mother (by the way, she has a crush on you). You made sure she was part of the process and provided transportation for her (when I couldn’t).
