Columbus City School District

Columbus City Schools, located in the center of Ohio and in the state capitol, has sixty-six elementary schools, with four PK-6 STEM academies and five K-8 schools, twenty middle schools, fourteen neighborhood-based high schools and five all-district programs, serving approximately 49,616 students. In the 2010-11 school year, the Ohio Department of Education awarded Columbus City Schools the rating of Continuous Improvement, with some individual schools receiving higher ratings for meeting or exceeding the academic standards set by the state of Ohio. Their schools feature instruction in the arts, biomedicine, STEM, and language immersion programs. Columbus City Schools offer a variety of AP courses and post-secondary enrollment options to earn free college credit. Twelve of their high schools were recognized as among the best in the country by US. News & World Report with Silver or Bronze designations.
